PC Freezing

Justin is having problems with his XP PC freezing for no aparent reason. The screen shows some lines and the PC crashes. Re-installing windows and clearing the hard drive doesn’t help. Here’s what might. The fact that the screen shows some lines got me thinking that it might be a video card related problem. If you go to the manufacturer’s website and get some new, updated drivers for the card and see if that helps. If not, the card might be faulty so if you can swap it for another or use the computer’s onboard video card if you’re not already.

Also make sure there’s no short circuiting going on or loose stuff flying around inside the PC.

This problem could also be related to faulty RAM so if you can swap this out or remove the sticks in rotation if you have more than one.

If you’re comfortable in the BIOS, try to set all settings back to default.
