PC Restarting Automatically

Author: PC Dude | Posted in the "General Computing" Category

Kelly’s computer restarts automatically but not in Safe Mode. Normally I’d say check your CPU temperature and check for faulty RAM but because the pc starts ok in safe mode it might indicate a virus. Run your updated anti-virus program in safe mode as well as checking the CPU and RAM. Also, Right-click My Computer > Properties > Advanced > Startup and Recovery Settings > Uncheck “automatically restart” in the System Failure section. This will stop the restarting and possibly give you a better indication of what’s causing the error. You can also check your Event Viewer for clues once you get started in normal mode.
